If you are looking for an entry level PCP this is NOT THE RIFLE TO BUY.

Please excuse the issues in the second half of the video. Shots were taken at 50 yards on a rare windless day.

***Update: This was an early version of the Sentry. Changes have been made, but comments online seem to indicate many of the problems persist. Should I have the opportunity to review a model where these issues have been addressed from the factory, I'll gladly do so. I am aware that their are well respected vendors out there who are tuning these rifles prior to selling them, either as a free on paid service, but my concern is more with factory stock.

My first PCP air rifle was a Xisico BAM B50. I love that air rifle, and in fact have done so much work on it that I use it for shooting competitive field target. To say I was looking forward to this new Xisico PCP when it was first announced at SHOT Show 2016 is an understatement.
To say I was beyond disappointed is also an understatement.
I purchased this rifle when they first became available, as I not only wanted to write a glowing review on it, but I also wanted to add it to my collection. Well, instead, it has sat abandoned in the corner of my basement, locked away in the purgatory of it’s original shipping box, a waste of time and money best left forgotten. Numerous contacts to Xisico in an attempt to both share my experiences with this rifle and request assistance were left unanswered. These were not generic website or social media requests either, but direct calls to Xisico staff I had met at SHOT show, and who eagerly gave me their business cards and contact information as they too were excited with this new PCP. While I had shot video with full intent to review this rifle back in Summer 2016, I was honestly so frustrated by this rifle I never bothered to waste my time and energy editing and posting the review video. The rifle was quickly forgotten by both retailers and enthusiasts alike, and that was the end of the story, or so I thought.
Recently I’ve seen this rifle promoted as being an amazing entry level PCP, and have seen a growing number of inquiries about how it performs and stacks up. As a result, here is my short delayed review of this much anticipated yet highly disappointing rifle.

Pros
-Adjustable cheek riser
-Built in power adjuster
-Decent accuracy

Cons
-Horrible build quality
-Magazines fall apart on their own
-Front fore-end ‘furniture’ serves no purpose
-Tacticool yet awkward, flimsy and cheaply built
-Marketed as an entry level PCP, but required significant tinkering
 to get it to work
-Out-classed by multiple lower cost true entry level PCPs

From functionless plastic foregrip to magazines that flew apart when removed from the shipping box, this rifle was about as disappointing as getting a GoBot for christmas when what you asked for was an Optimus Prime Transformer.

If you can score a deal on one of these and are looking for a rifle to tune, modify and tinker with, then by all means, have at it.

If you are looking for an affordable, beginner friendly, entry level PCP, avoid this rifle at all costs.

I really wanted to like the Xisico Sentry. I first saw this rifle at Shot Show 2016, and was excited to see what the final product would be like.
